High Precision Machine Spindles

Type 6412 - Precision machined, heat-treated and ground steel alloy spindle, designed to operate with the Agnew Analog Type 6312 hydrodynamic oil-bath bearing unit and the Type 612, Type 613 and Type 614 machine beds, for direct-drive disk recording and mastering lathe applications. The Type 6412 spindle is commonly fitted to the Type 6105 subplatter, to hold the Type 6112 or Type 6114 vacuum platter.

Type 6438 - Precision machined, heat-treated and ground steel alloy spindle, designed to operate with the Agnew Analog Type 605 and Type 607 machine beds, for portable disk recording system applications, stylus manufacturing machines and other industrial manufacturing applications.

Custom Spindles - We can manufacture (or in some cases refurbish) precision machine spindles to fit any disk recording and mastering lathe, tape machine, turntable or any of the equipment used in industrial media manufacturing. In addition, we have extensive experience designing, manufacturing and modifying specialized equipment for exacting manufacturing operations (coil winding equipment, disk recording stylus manufacturing machines, and so on), as well as restoring precision machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, measurement instruments and other industrial equipment. We can manufacture solid or hollow spindles with provision for workholding devices, indexing, or other functions, out of a variety of steel alloys. Different types of heat treatment are possible, including stainless steel and even non-ferromagnetic spindles for applications where this would be required.
